Hope its not a mud run every year but it sure was this time.

Thanks to Sally Barker & my wife Tina for organizing the BBQ cook out. It all started for me with taking the BBQ trailer up to Moon-Lick park Friday evening to set up & camp out as I didn't want to leave the BBQ there all night by itself. It was a beautiful star filled night but woke up at 5:00 am to cloudy skies. Drove back down the mountain to meet everybody at No. City Market @ 8:30, then moved accross the street to Adaptive Sports where we met with Anne Marie & Gloria & their riders, we had 18 riders in all & had just enough seats to accomadate everyone. They had a waiting list of over 10 people who still wanted to go & asked us if we could do it again in the Fall.

A Big Thanks goes to: Dwight & Bev Stovall, Jerry McGeorge, Sally Barker, Wendy Klemm, Kevin & Tabitha Heckman, Cara Tankersley, Zack & Colt, & Glen & Tina Hood for helping to put this together. We then left around 9:30 & headed East to Beaver Meadows road. Unfortunately, Zack got called to work so we had to pull over at Gem Village & re-arrange a few seats & then got on the road again.

It had sprinkled on Beaver Meadows Rd which was ok as it cut down on the dust, but as soon as we got to Ute Park Rd it started to sprinkle & it rained all the way to Moon Lit Park, which made for a muddy trail ride but everyone was still having fun. We were all getting pretty hungry by now. We got to the BBQ around 1:00pm and Sally & Tina started cooking right away & still raining, but not hard, & no one complained. We were still having a great day & it actually started to clear up a bit by the time we headed down the mountain. We arrived back at the Adaptive Sports Office around 4:00 pm. a little late, but everyone was happy to have had a wonderful time & can't wait to do it again. Anne Marie said this is the most popular outing they have.

Thanks to everyone who helped, volunteered their time, & their Jeeps to put smiles on alot of faces. Hope we get to do it again & maybe next time have a few more volunteers to accomadate all the people so no one is turned away.

Thanks alot, Glen Hood
