Configuring a Business Item in Dynamics GP

It is important for the business to be able to communicate to employees what it expects of them and how the company will benefit if they do their job well. The Business item can also include information about the compensation system and benefits for employees.
There are many ways to communicate the Business item, including distributing it via email, posting it on the company’s website, or printing it out and displaying it in a staff meeting room. In order to be effective, the Business item should be easy for employees to understand and implement.
In the Business item, you can set up several tabs that control different aspects of the item’s functionality. For example, the tabs allow you to configure an item’s costing, posting setup and prices, and sales policy. The next tab allows you to configure an item’s inventory replenishment. There are three options: Default, Automatic and Manual. Depending on which option you select, the system will determine how to manage your inventory.
For example, if you select “Automatic,” the system will automatically replenish the item when the inventory falls below a specified threshold. The system will also create a forecast to help you plan for the future. “Automatic” is a good option for companies with low turnover. It may not be suitable for businesses with a large amount of turnover or high stock levels.
You can also configure the item’s behavior with regard to a delivery-related billing process. For items that are not delivered at all, the information that the ordered quantity is not delivered is printed and the rejection reason is added to the document.
In addition, you can activate enhanced rejection logic for sales document items with third-party delivery or individual procurement, and enable the updating of the sales document from a confirmed purchase order. These configurations are made in the Customizing activity Define Item Categories.솔솥
